Update for 12-02-2014

Here is the update for today:
Earth Science 1:
•  HW #17 (Due Tomorrow):  Worksheet - ESRT p. 5 questions.

Regent Chemistry 1:
•  HW. #18 (Due Friday):  Worksheets - Lewis e- dot diagram of covalent compounds.  You might want to wait until after tomorrow's lesson to gain some additional practices before working on the HW.
 
Science, Technology & Society:
• HW #10 (Due Tomorrow):  Long Quest for Ebola Vaccine  (Answer the following questions after you complete the article):

1. Why is it that we have not yet find a treatment for Ebola for human (as implied by the article)?

2. How would a vaccine against Ebola works if it is to be effective?

3. Do you think the two drugs, Zmapp and TKM-Ebola, that were used in treating individual cases would be effective in general?  Explain your reasoning.

4. Describe how convalescent serum would work against Ebola.

5. Do you think we should speed up the trials for experimental Ebola vaccine or treatment?  What might be the negative consequence if things go wrong?
