Here is the update for today:
Earth Science 1:
• HW #12 (Due Monday):  Worksheet - Plotting Epicenters.
• A test will be held next Wednesday - primarily focus on Earthquake Waves.

Regent Chemistry 1:
• Completed Lab. Report #7 is DUE on Monday.
• HW #13 (Due Wednesday):  Worksheet - Basic Facts of the Periodic Table.
• A quiz will be given next Wednesday - Know the name and symbols for the first 36 elements.

• Reminder:  Lab. #5 will be held in our regular classroom TOMORROW.  Some of you were trying to trick me into thinking that you will miss the class because of CTE things; well, I check the names with Mrs. Ramirez's list and none of your names is on the list for my classes.  So, no excuses!

Update for 10-09-2014

Here is the update for today:
Earth Science 1:

Regent Chemistry 1:
• Lab. #4 will be held in Rm. 311 tomorrow.
Explanation of Visible Line Spectrum:   When electron absorbs the right amount of energy (e.g. heat, light, or electricity), it will temporarily move to a higher energy (excited, unstable) state.  Since it's unstable, it will soon return to the lower energy (more stable) ground state and released the energy that was absorbed.  The energies released are called photons, with different wavelengths (energy) that show up as different spectral lines in the visible line spectrum.
• Reminder:  Deadline for all make-up assignment is Tomorrow.
